Power of Poster

This is 3 day workshop, at cooperhewitt national design musuem. Me, Arkin, and Servett where in a group together. We're assign to creat a poster. Our idea is about addressing waste issue, how people are really wasteful during christmas, and all the chrismas tree that are cutting are trow away after the christmas is over. I felt bad for those trees, so I did research about where people could reclycle their christmas tree and tip for reducing waste during chrismas. today is our last day for the project I can't wait to get it finish. the final peice 'll getting produce as actual poster.

Art Trip

Yesterday, the art as social force class have a trip to Chelsea Galleries. It was really fun experience. There 60 artist work and over 20 gaint art peices. all of the peice were on the huge walls. All those wall forming like maze. I look so small infront of those art works. Most of those art work are political, and deal with the recents issues in USA. such as Obama being in the presedent, global economic issue, racism and sexism. Same of the art work are very time consuming, like the one the map of eutopia, the whole images is made out of small pieces of black tape. where the other one are very simple. for example there's a giant black wall with black color word Evolution. if you don't pay attention closely, can't really see it. Yesterday's trip is so fun, we take alot of picture of me and my teamate intereact with the art work. I would suguest any to go there, it just a great experience.

College progress

I wish and hope I could finish all the writing portion of my colleges suppermental by this week. I had apply for Parson The New School For Design, School of visual art, FIT, Pratt, purchase and other. I finish my resume finally, and had send out to ask for recommendation, I had 2 personal statement done, and but need to get finalize. I had 16 art piece for my portfolio, but most of the are 80% finish, I need to edit them during the break. I still need to find a way to pay for my college tuition, I want to apply HEOP program hope I'm elegible. People been told me I had to high GPA to apply for HEOP or EOP. I just want to get most work done, so I had less to do during break. And I could search for scholarships, enter contest and prepare for big exams.

Can't wait for christmas break

Even though my family don't celebrate christmas, you'll never see a christmas tree, or gifts at my house, even though I still have to work during christmas break at my parent's Nail Salon. Even though I don't have much money to buy christmas present for my love friends and people I care and I can't do the secret santa, because I spend my money on metro card. I had lost my metro card for more than 3 weeks, and didn't get a new one, usually I had after school program which I have to use my metro 3 times a day, I had spend almost 100 dollar on my metro card, the people in the office told me I have to wait until Feb, But I'm afraid, I can't wait till that long. Never less, I still can't for the break and get a deep rest.

why I write blog

I'm writting a blog now because every semester we have ton write at least 12 bloger, last semester,I didn't know about it until the day before the blogs were due. This semester I want to finish most of blog so I don't freak out by the end of the semester.
Now I'm running out of topic to write about, so I write about why I have to write blog. so far including this one I have 19 blogs, which means I only 5 blog left to make it 24. I guess now I'm done writting until next time I have more intresting stuff to write about.

Alot of work to do

This Saturday will be a busy Saturday, both my Parson's porfolio class and SAT prep class has come to the end, Tomorrow will be my last class. Tomorrow at Parsons there will be a show case, where student display their art work, and after that there's be a special workshop for people who want to shot their photo fot the colleg porfolio, I have a lot of work to do, since my pofolio class is only once a week and each class is only 3 hours, I have alot of art work I didn't finish. I want to finish my art works. and also I have 3 essay due on monday, one is for my history class to write about the trip, and a collge essay, and a write up for my art peice that was crated in Art as social force class. I also want to email every one who I want the recomendation letter my resume... it just alot of work.

Blogger

Blogger is a great place to draw your idea down. in blogger you don't have to worry about if the sentence make sence, if your spelling is correct, you don't have to worry about the sentence structure,you don't have follow any rule or guide, you're basically free, other people have to understand what you write, you don't have to worry about other reading your blog, because usually people don't look at it. you could write what ever you what, put your emotion down, release your stress, you can write what what ever comes to your mind, with out a second thought. I'm a extremely slow writter, it takes me a long time to organize my though and write a essay. I could write a pretty good essay, but it takes a long time, I'm not a natural writter. But in blogger I could write fast, sometime none stopping. I feel the sky is the limit. Freedom of express. I feel I'm slowly liking blogger.

magic pencil

In my Art as Social force class, we have an project which is to creat a live self self protiat project. We took photograph of each other and print out our favourt pose and print out life size or bigger than life size. and using unual material to cover the image. My project is call magic pencil. If there such thing as super power, I want to have a magic pencil. which could turn any thing I draw into real life. In my project, I was sitting on top of a giant magic pencil, on the back of the erraser there's flame that come's out (made of atume leafs) and have the word passion on it and at the tip of the pencil there's a giant loose leave and have the writing change on it. I'm very experemental with my material, I have use rice, thread, MTA map, egg, leaf, stableler, penny, thread, loose leaf, and sparkle flower on my art peice. I love the way how it turn out. it looks very cool. I know it's harc to imagion but I'll upload a pictuire after I took a photo of it.

college

I believe that every senior accross the country was overwhelme by the among of college works and information. Every one seem to stress out. My school Urban Assembly of music and art was a brand new school, I'm one the first group of student that'll be graduate from there. So there's no one come before for us to make a refrence to. In my family I'm the first child to go to college my parent can't help me much, I have to fingure every thing out by my self. And this is not a good year to go to collge since the economy goes but the tution and pubic college compertition goes up, this year is more difficult to get finacial aid and scholarship. With many challenge and difficulty thank godness I have alot of people help and support me, like my friends, teachers, counceler, parson and more.

Fianally finish my resume

It seems take forever to finish my resume, I keep on edit it and edit it and spend many of lunch and after school hour on it. In my school lab top there over ten version of my resume. I had attent many after school program have some working experiece, but it's hard to put the experience on paper. I keep adding and take out stuff, the resume went from 2 page to 1 page and I add more become 2 pg agian, and add more detial it went up to 3 to almost 4 pages and it's edit down to two pgs. I just want to get it finish and send my rusume to people I want recomandation letter, and send it to college. so I could work on other important stuff. special thanks for people that helps me with my resume. I can't get it done with out them.

Social issue project

After a long time deceiding, I finally could some thing I'm intrete to research and do project on for the whole semester. My project was on Recycle art. I pick the topic because I love art, I love making craft. I want to creat an art project that's intresting, asthetic apealing and also bring up social adwarness about recycling. I 'm also planing to make an art lesson or tuturial on reclycle for the class. This project is very excited for me
So far I'm working on the research portion of the project. because I have fill the citations,but when I did the research on google, I realize it' hard to find written information on recycle art, since most of the site only showing the art pieces that was made from recycle material. Ms DJ told me to do research about recycle fact and find a way to tie the information al together. By doing that I have found alot of intresting recycle facts. I can't wait to finish the researcle because I want to get more time to work on the art part of the project. and I hope my project will go smothly .

My school lab top

My high school lab tops hates me, suriously, when ever I really want to get something done, some always happen, the lab top always gave me trouble, as if it got attitute it self. sometime it'll take more than half hour for me to log in, somtime by the time I just loging it's time for me to log out. I remember at 9th grade when I first open the school, I was supper excited, because this is the 1st school I enter that have lap top, but soon the excitement turn into disapointement, because the labtop took up more than whole period to open. (make me sleepy) The #1 weapon that school lab top use to against me is the spining wheal of death. At the beganing I actuactual enjoy watching and my eye fallow the spinning wheal because it's the color of the rianbow. but after a while it's not cute any more, it's getting on my nerve, sometime it just spin out of no where and never stop spinning unless you force to shut down and most like you're going to lost all the file you didn't save. in the past years I had to retyped so many work because of this#1 killer. But one good thing about that is I improve my typing speed, don't know if I should be happy about it.

college work

Senior year is the most intense year in high school. ( can't believe I'm graduating and ready to go to college time pass so fast)
There's a lot of paper work to do. Although I have 99% sure of where I want to go to college and what I want to be, but still get stress out by the amount of the work and pressure. I hope I could get out of those college application done, so I could enjoy my vacation for a day and work on porfolio and creating more artwork (my favourt thing to do) and do other stuff that enjoy beside collge work.

Gothic Gallery

After the FIT pizza lunch, we get the chance to visit FIT Gothic Gallery. I could feel the dark Gothic atmosphere when I first walk, My heart was full of excitement and combine with little fear, like Pandora was so curious about what's in the box, even if she fears something bad might happen. When I think about in right now, the images become clear in my Brain, the Gothic writing on the wall full Moon they're cover by mysterious cloud, the model dress up in a Gothic fashion, even though they don't have a face and they stand still, but I imaging they come to live at night hunting human souls. All of those designs are come from all over the world, mostly japan and European. in some clothing you could feel the Royal arrogance as if the outfit it self announce she's the queen of the dark. some of the outfit, had combine modern element and Gothics style like ripping cloths and chains. One of my favour out was hidden in the glass it look like a Gothic rock star girl with a cute, creepy doll on the side. The glass create magic boundary, sometime you see the outfit sometime you don't. Walk in the gallery gave me the feeling of dark fantasy come to life.

while I was researching in school for after school programs and tutorial site for my anime art club members (I want them to have the opportunities I had in the past all the member in the club have the potential to go far) I found a site call ratemydrwings.com
they have a special software online (like simple version of photoshop) allow people to draw on line and the coolest thing is they play out the process of you took to created the artwork like a short video. you also could see other's work and learn the way how they draw. there's also competitions and you could win prize. There's a manga mood competition I want to enter, hopely with my skill I'll get into the finalist. ( so far there's over 2000 submission but I feel confident) wish me luck.

TEMA after school program

This is my second year I participate at TEMA, it's a nonprofit art organization that created for youth in the new york get a chance to work with professional artist to create community art projects (mostly Mural) One project I was work on was creating stencils for construction truck and the mean purpose of this project was to bring social awareness about environmental issue, such as telling people to reclycle, how important is nature to our surrounding and some statistic about environmental issue. The whole process took a long process, from coming up with concepts, come up with drawings, skill practice ( art and group skills) vi sting site, making measurement, making scale models, presenting ideas and get prove and making the live size stencils, and work on site, and making the final presentation to the society. In there I learn how to cooperate with other and public speaking skill, It's very enriching experience and plus you get pay.
This time we're working with New public space department and we're assign to do a project on the fence which dividing the cars from the bikes. The site is 5 minute away from our school make me super excited because this year my last in high school and I'll be able to leave something behind near the school I use to go to. We did a presentation yesterday and they like ideas so far...

My mom

My mom is the most blunt person I had ever know. I heard a quote from some person "you don't get hurt by someone unless you love them or really care about them." It's true come to me and my mom... I get hurt a lot my mom weather my mom realize or not.(I guess I'm sensitive) My mom likes to compare me and my brother with other kid allot, ( I guess most Asian 'll do that, but my mom were more ridicules.) She'll tell me how hard working other kid is and how those kid were really help their family, not only they do extremely well in school, smart, also they work since they're little and already start making money, and they do their house work they cook for their parent, took care of their sibling and never their parent worry. Hey something to hear those thing is motive but hear too much is something different, especially after you hear about all those great thing about other kid, she'll put you down and basically said you aren't as great as other. But most time what she compare me for is my height and my appearance. almost every day she'll told me, "why you're so short and why you're so ugly" even though most of time she sound joking, but how can she compare something that I'm born with. and always told me how her friends dollar is so pretty and so tall and don't have to worry about their future because they find a good husband and told that I have to work hard because I'm ugly how very interesting way to encourage me. Ya, I heard it so much that I go numb, but still it hurt, just simply because I'm a person. simply because I love her and care the way how she think about me...

I hate bake sale

I can't cook, I mean I can't cook at all, All I know is know to boil water and fried eggs, when bake sale come, it always gave me headache, since I'm in the Student government and some of the club I always have to participate in bake sell to raise money for the school. I'll feel bad if I don'[t contribute... but usually it'll end up embarrassing my self if I do participate. My food doesn't sell!!! Since I can't cook I have to buy those food. Since I live in a Chinese neighborhood most of food resource I could get access is Chinese or Asian food. I guess Asian treats bake food doesn't sell well on bake sell, (all those treat are my favors I don't get why don't like it or why didn't gave it a chance) for more than 5 bake sell I had bring food in,and each time I bring in something new but none of my food ever sell well, they usually 'll become the left over or gave out for free when other bake foods sell like if it's not enough... this bake sell the same I knew my food isn't going to sell but I bring it any way like I just I feel bad if don't participate. I send all my left over money yesterday to buy those Japanese rice cakes. (they're not cheap) I even forgot that I have to save the money left for buying metro card to get home (Since I lost my student metro card I have to buy my own), I'll find way to get home..hope the MTA person at the station will be nice enough to let me get in. From now on I'll not participate in bake sell unless I learn how to bake in their flavor.

Animate Club

Me and Simba start an anime club in our school, I'm the technicial advisor there. Some time I gave a little leason about the anmate basics, such as porporsion, facial expression, drawing kid vs drawing adults, tool and materials. We had Anime club for 2 years. Club members had double. Our member are repectful and calmer than most kid in our school. Even though every one come from diffiren level of artskill but we all have one thing in commen , is that we all love Anime. I really hope all the member in club enjoy time their while improving their art skill.

FIT tour continue

We get change to talk to some of the FIT student, they make FIT sound so interesting and full of opportunities. We also join the Admission section, which I found it's really helpful I took allot of notes. I'm really glad that FIT is not looking for SAT because my SAT score are not that great. FIT's requirement is so different from other school, they don't want recommendation or resume, but they as for academic history and essay, also you could only send in you portfolio after you get accepted or else they'll going to throw your portfolio away, but in a way it's good, because it give me more time to prepare. After admission section, we had a pizza lunch, it's delicious, it makes me hungry just think about it. yummy
I love FIT I'll definatelly apply.

FIT tour

Last week we went to a field trip visting FIT. This is our first school trip of the year so far, it's great too just get out the school building and breath some fresh air. Esspecially with all those College work we will need to do, it's good to get a day off. This is my 2nd time visting FIT I'm still amaze by their buildings, I love the goemetric shape and the the texture of FIT buildings. when we get in there I was excited by the college student's work, it was crative and more professional level, among the work, one of work stuck in my mind, it was a picture of someone setting in a sofa, it look regular at a moment, but when you look closely, you might start to freak out, there's bloody hand reach out of the sofa and hold hand with the person that set there. It make me wonder, who's the hand belong to, what was the person's relationship with the hand? what does it mean....

personal essay note

I spend my whole lunch period solving puzzles, those puzzles are very challenging and I didn't get any of the answers right. But the worse thing is there's only answer in the puzzle book, but there's no explanation at all, I can't even figure out how it's possible to get that answer. I got a brian jam, now my brian is full of puzzles and I reallly want to solve it.

randomness

This is my first time ever writting a blog online, I don't where I should start..... okey maybe I should dump out my thought and jut continue writting.....I still don't know what to write.... I mean who's going to see my blog anyway who care about it anyway.....I love to draw, I wish I could have my pencil and sketchbook with me right now, so I could start drawing, instead to type on compute, that doesn't have a feeling.... anyway I just get my nail done, it's very prety, i did the desgin my self and it's very long.... I don't want to broke my nail because of this 2 paragraph I have to type....If my nail broke I'll be really sad... because it'll hurt alot and because I spend hour and hour on it ......
All right ...my SAT is coming up soon, it's next month... which means I have less than a month to prepare, Hopely I'lldo better than the first time.... but those pages and pages of SAT prep worksheet just drive me crazy, Imaging on a saturday after noon after you already have 3 hours of art class ( which I like ) without eating breakfast and 1 minute to eat lunch in a crowed trian thhaat trave an hour to the SAT prep class, and spend 5 hours straight setting extreme clowed frezing classroom learning about SAT,plus I was really sick that and a bug fly stuck on left eye and I only sleep less than 6 hours the day before. And then after the class i have to buy glocery that's more than 20 pound of goods plus the weght of my profolio and a book bag and Drag every thing home, It just horrible but I'll try my best to beat down the SAT monster and kick down this broking wall...
...hey maybe the blog is a good space to release my stress.
