while I was researching in school for after school programs and tutorial site for my anime art club members (I want them to have the opportunities I had in the past all the member in the club have the potential to go far) I found a site call ratemydrwings.com
they have a special software online (like simple version of photoshop) allow people to draw on line and the coolest thing is they play out the process of you took to created the artwork like a short video. you also could see other's work and learn the way how they draw. there's also competitions and you could win prize. There's a manga mood competition I want to enter, hopely with my skill I'll get into the finalist. ( so far there's over 2000 submission but I feel confident) wish me luck.

TEMA after school program

This is my second year I participate at TEMA, it's a nonprofit art organization that created for youth in the new york get a chance to work with professional artist to create community art projects (mostly Mural) One project I was work on was creating stencils for construction truck and the mean purpose of this project was to bring social awareness about environmental issue, such as telling people to reclycle, how important is nature to our surrounding and some statistic about environmental issue. The whole process took a long process, from coming up with concepts, come up with drawings, skill practice ( art and group skills) vi sting site, making measurement, making scale models, presenting ideas and get prove and making the live size stencils, and work on site, and making the final presentation to the society. In there I learn how to cooperate with other and public speaking skill, It's very enriching experience and plus you get pay.
This time we're working with New public space department and we're assign to do a project on the fence which dividing the cars from the bikes. The site is 5 minute away from our school make me super excited because this year my last in high school and I'll be able to leave something behind near the school I use to go to. We did a presentation yesterday and they like ideas so far...

My mom

My mom is the most blunt person I had ever know. I heard a quote from some person "you don't get hurt by someone unless you love them or really care about them." It's true come to me and my mom... I get hurt a lot my mom weather my mom realize or not.(I guess I'm sensitive) My mom likes to compare me and my brother with other kid allot, ( I guess most Asian 'll do that, but my mom were more ridicules.) She'll tell me how hard working other kid is and how those kid were really help their family, not only they do extremely well in school, smart, also they work since they're little and already start making money, and they do their house work they cook for their parent, took care of their sibling and never their parent worry. Hey something to hear those thing is motive but hear too much is something different, especially after you hear about all those great thing about other kid, she'll put you down and basically said you aren't as great as other. But most time what she compare me for is my height and my appearance. almost every day she'll told me, "why you're so short and why you're so ugly" even though most of time she sound joking, but how can she compare something that I'm born with. and always told me how her friends dollar is so pretty and so tall and don't have to worry about their future because they find a good husband and told that I have to work hard because I'm ugly how very interesting way to encourage me. Ya, I heard it so much that I go numb, but still it hurt, just simply because I'm a person. simply because I love her and care the way how she think about me...

I hate bake sale

I can't cook, I mean I can't cook at all, All I know is know to boil water and fried eggs, when bake sale come, it always gave me headache, since I'm in the Student government and some of the club I always have to participate in bake sell to raise money for the school. I'll feel bad if I don'[t contribute... but usually it'll end up embarrassing my self if I do participate. My food doesn't sell!!! Since I can't cook I have to buy those food. Since I live in a Chinese neighborhood most of food resource I could get access is Chinese or Asian food. I guess Asian treats bake food doesn't sell well on bake sell, (all those treat are my favors I don't get why don't like it or why didn't gave it a chance) for more than 5 bake sell I had bring food in,and each time I bring in something new but none of my food ever sell well, they usually 'll become the left over or gave out for free when other bake foods sell like if it's not enough... this bake sell the same I knew my food isn't going to sell but I bring it any way like I just I feel bad if don't participate. I send all my left over money yesterday to buy those Japanese rice cakes. (they're not cheap) I even forgot that I have to save the money left for buying metro card to get home (Since I lost my student metro card I have to buy my own), I'll find way to get home..hope the MTA person at the station will be nice enough to let me get in. From now on I'll not participate in bake sell unless I learn how to bake in their flavor.

Animate Club

Me and Simba start an anime club in our school, I'm the technicial advisor there. Some time I gave a little leason about the anmate basics, such as porporsion, facial expression, drawing kid vs drawing adults, tool and materials. We had Anime club for 2 years. Club members had double. Our member are repectful and calmer than most kid in our school. Even though every one come from diffiren level of artskill but we all have one thing in commen , is that we all love Anime. I really hope all the member in club enjoy time their while improving their art skill.

FIT tour continue

We get change to talk to some of the FIT student, they make FIT sound so interesting and full of opportunities. We also join the Admission section, which I found it's really helpful I took allot of notes. I'm really glad that FIT is not looking for SAT because my SAT score are not that great. FIT's requirement is so different from other school, they don't want recommendation or resume, but they as for academic history and essay, also you could only send in you portfolio after you get accepted or else they'll going to throw your portfolio away, but in a way it's good, because it give me more time to prepare. After admission section, we had a pizza lunch, it's delicious, it makes me hungry just think about it. yummy
I love FIT I'll definatelly apply.

FIT tour

Last week we went to a field trip visting FIT. This is our first school trip of the year so far, it's great too just get out the school building and breath some fresh air. Esspecially with all those College work we will need to do, it's good to get a day off. This is my 2nd time visting FIT I'm still amaze by their buildings, I love the goemetric shape and the the texture of FIT buildings. when we get in there I was excited by the college student's work, it was crative and more professional level, among the work, one of work stuck in my mind, it was a picture of someone setting in a sofa, it look regular at a moment, but when you look closely, you might start to freak out, there's bloody hand reach out of the sofa and hold hand with the person that set there. It make me wonder, who's the hand belong to, what was the person's relationship with the hand? what does it mean....
