At MIT I saw those advance technical robots, machine, inventions and some of them is not yet introduce to the public. There's large percentage of Asian at MIT, which make me think of the school atmosphere in China. one thing that I don’t like Chinese education is that there not much of freedom, the class is really boring and dry. student don’t enjoy what they’re doing, because most of time they’re force to do it. (I think for artist, freedom and passion is extremely important) The competition was extremely intense, and there’s a lot of pressure and most of time, even though I do think right among of pressure and competition is really important for improvement, but not to a point where student want to suicide (I heard from a student, there high percentage of suicide at MIT) I don’t think I’m geek enough or nerdy enough to survive in those kind of atmosphere. After visiting RISD, it become my top college choice. The environment at RISD was remarkable and beautiful. I have heard both positive and negative things about RISD from students and admission. But over all, RISD fit my need very well.
I believe that you and excel anything by practice, including communication, networking and conference. I know that because I wasn't naturally born, or have talent at speaking, or networking, just recent years I have become more and more social, probably because I was in America, the idea of freedom in speech and express your self, identity, personality, was play great role in my brain. So I completely free my self (the real me that being hiding under pressure, rules giving by parent, under society image of how a kid should be.) through practice, through building conformance, bravely from successes, and through expanding horizon. Now I'm 99.9% comfortable to talk to strangers meeting new people, (I meet several artists or teachers, at train, and few of them I actually have their contact and some of them really support me for been a artist.) I feel confident to introduce and talk about my self. Just like I feel comfortable write to you about my self since the 1st prompt.
I know that networking skill is extremely important, it just like one door that could lead you to many others. I remember when I was at 9th grade I was at guidance councilor almost every day, searching for opportunities, programs, I have to so much work, and wait for a long time to get the opportunities. After years of hardworking Network like rolling snow getting bigger and bigger, now the opportunities and programs most of time come to me, I have so much to the point I have hard time choosing and arranging schedule.
